What if I’m not artistic?

Nonsense, our classes are designed to wake up the artist in each of us, there is plenty of challenge to all skill levels. We provide the materials for everyone to get started wherever they want to begin. Our Artist-In-Residence leads the way step-by-step through every aspect of the painting. Our Artist-In-Residence answer questions and to make sure everyone is enjoying their creation.
Art is a personal choice, there is no “right” or “wrong”. What may be perceived as a “mistake” can be addressed or become a stroke of genius!

What should I wear?

We provide aprons, but we recommend wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting paint on just in case! We use water soluble material that can wash out of clothes.
Can I paint something other than what everyone else is painting?
We recommend you paint the same painting as everyone else, however we provide additional paintings & photos to reference your personal perspective. Use different colors, composition, and design elements, to express your own originality.

Are there age requirements?

Our classes are designed for everyone 21 and up; kids 12 and up when accompanied by an adult in location appropriate for kids, we do have family days when the subject matter may be something they would enjoy or you can go to Brainiac Arts & choose from one of the events that is designed specifically for kids 6-16 years old.

Is the paint toxic? Is the paint safe for children or pregnant women?

We use AP certified non-toxic paint. A product can be certified non-toxic only if it contains no materials in sufficient quantities to be toxic or injurious to humans, or to cause acute or chronic health problems. AP certification is reviewed by ACMI’s Toxicological Advisory Board.
These products are certified by ACMI to be labeled in accordance with the chronic hazard labeling standard, ASTM D-4236 and federal law P.L. 100-695.
